The Fair Close Centre

The centre was opened by the Queen Mother in November 1967 and in 2017, they celebrated 50 years of continuous service to the senior citizens of West Berkshire. Their aim has always been to enrich the lives of older people by providing a place to go to spend time with friends and to meet new people. From singing and card games to crafts, flower arranging and bingo, there’s something for everyone. Their kitchen provides a freshly cooked two-course meal every weekday lunchtime and delivers hot meals to those who are unable to come to the Centre

How did I help them?

It was on their Meals on Wheels service that Fair Close Centre needed some assistance,  With the on set of COVID-19 these services were very much expanding but the current system (a lot of pen and paper) was not really able to see them scale.  Nicola worked with Fair Close Centre on a pro bono basis to: 

• Analyse requirements and review system solutions
• "Interview" potential software specialist in the MoW space
• Review of CRM options:  This involved proof of concept of chosen solution and presentation deck for the trustees  
• Data cleanse and migration to the new CRM
• Creation of training videos for staff

We've been on a number of calls with the team at Fair close and their enthusiasm is infectious.  We are happy that I was able to assist on their first steps of their technological journey .
